Adam Shallcross
Umbraco developer, building tooling at the intersection of CMS and AI.
I'm Adam Shallcross, an Umbraco developer who spends most of his time at the seam between content management and AI. After years building Umbraco sites for real organisations, I kept hitting the same gap: the CMS knows everything about your content, and almost none of that knowledge is shaped for the AI tools now reading the web. So I started building packages to close it.
My work focuses on practical, opinionated open-source tooling - software that does one thing well, ships with strong views about what it deliberately won't do, and respects both the editor and the developer. I'm affiliated with Cogworks, but the packages and writing here are my own independent open-source work.
What I'm working on now
- Umbraco.Community.AiVisibility - making Umbraco sites legible to AI engines and showing when they visit.
- AgentRun.Umbraco - an early-stage companion package for running autonomous agents inside Umbraco.
- Writing about AI visibility, llms.txt, and how language models actually read a CMS.
